History of American flag

 The first flag of the us was adopted in 1777 out of the colours red, white, and blue. The new country had simply declared its independence from United Kingdom, and was product of thirteen new states that wont to be British colonies. So they set to place thirteen red and white stripes on the flag. And during this blue space of the flag, referred to as the canton, they placed one white star for each of the thirteen states within the union: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. So this was the primary us flag, with thirteen stripes and thirteen stars.
